How Do You Know If You’ve Been Hacked

hacker1Getting hacked has got to be one of the worst things that can happen to you online.  It can affect your finances, people you know, your business, and more.  If your online identity is compromised, all your data can be at risk.  The hacker could impersonate you using your email address.  He could get into other accounts and wreck havoc if he chooses.  So, how do you know you’ve been hacked? 10,000 Hotmail Accounts Compromised

Uh-oh, this is not good.  Mashable just reported today that 10,000 Hotmail accounts were compromised when the login credentials (email address and password) were posted on a website.  Only addresses beginning with A and B were listed, so this could indicate that there are more compiled lists awaiting publication.  Check out the article here.

If you have a Hotmail account, you need to change your password ASAP!  The fact that so many accounts were compromised reflects many of the dangers and pitfalls of cloud computing:
